Best Coast, Wavves, How to Dress Well, Curren$y, Washed Out to Play Free Adult Swim Shows

The people behind the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block seem determined to bring us free music any way they can, and we're not complaining. As Consequence of Sound points out, their latest venture is the third annual installment of their Ragbag of Jollification tour, a series of free outdoor concerts that'll take over parking lots across the country in spring. Every show features a different rapper or indie rocker, as well as carnival games and food.

Various stops on the tour will feature folks like Best Coast, Wavves, Curren$y, How to Dress Well, Washed Out, High on Fire, Pusha T, Maserati, and the rap triple-header of Young Dro, Killer Mike, and Pac Div in San Diego. We've got the dates and performers below.

Glass Popcorn is a 14 year old dude out of Tempe, Arizona, and is perhaps the most amazing artist I’ve come across for a while. Someone unconstrained by genre titles like Dubstep, Witch House, Mashup, Drag or electro. Someone who takes all these and creates something immense that borrows from each while pushing things forward with all the punk attitude of someone really great. 2011 Dubstep germinated in the desserts of the Southwest. A Witch House Bieber. It’s all good.

i was catching up with the last couple of weeks worth of skinsUK season 5 a couple of days ago and was like, "huh, whaaaa?" yeah. really.

i was pretty sure they were featuring nick's stereotypical character of the good-looking rugby jock who has everything going for him falling into some kind of freefall downward life (as well as alcohol and drug) induced spriral - albeit to the soundtrack of SALEM's "ASIA" and WHITE RING's "ROSES"... (if you're into it check season 5 episode 5. if you're not, but want to make sure i'm not just blowing smoke, check episode 5 starting at about the :30min mark into the episode)

that's when i remembered, hey this is the main reason why i've always been into the show. they've always stayed on top of what's new/now as it relates to the up and coming musical artists/scenes/genres (i.e. grime, dubstep, etc.)

i've got to hand it to those progressive teen-drama writing brits - they're on top of it. so after replaying the scenes several times to enjoy the absoluteness of it all, i was like, "yeah! you go! get on that crazy 'witch house' business y'all!"
