class actress

traveling back and forth from colorado to california in the last couple of months has given me a lot of opportunities to do one of my favorite things of all all time - listen to music - more importantly listen to new and undiscovered music just brimming with aural potential.

one of the artists that i've yet to fully explore, but love everything i've heard from her so far, is brooklyn songstress elizabeth harper that goes by the name CLASS ACTRESS. her swoony and dreamy vocals are reminiscent of the sweet, nectar-y stuff that reminds me a wee bit of THE COCTEAU TWINS, but on a completely different level. her full-debut lp RAPPROCHER released on oct. 12 of this year via CARPARK.

makes me really wish mr. hughes was still around to leave behind one final ouevre that could be fully scored with nothing but her and m83 tracks. le sigh.

it's kinda like FORT COLLINS called in ADULT SWIM cause they knew it was our last day in town and they threw us a huge going away block party... yeah, um, at least that's what i'm going to tell all of my grandchildren.

yeah, and not only that, they also got one of our all-time favorite colorado-based bands to play the event - that being TENNIS of course.

we're definitely gonna miss colorado - especially because they sure do know how to throw quite the send-away soiree.
